Benefits: Visiting Scientists and Visiting Predoctoral Students

Visiting scientists are eligible to participate in the Montefiore benefits program offered through our affiliation with Montefiore Health System.

Current visiting scientists and visiting predoctoral students can access summary information about their benefits, access benefit forms and review Einstein benefit policies by logging into Einstein’s intranet site. You will need your active directory credentials to access Einstein’s intranet site.

Students Benefits Summary

Medical

Visiting scientists and visiting pre-doctoral students receive a bundled benefits package that include medical and vision coverage.

The MontePrime EPO plan requires that certain in-network providers be used to receive benefits under the plan. Any cost share will be higher when the Empire BlueCard PPO facilities and providers outside of Montefiore and the Montefiore Integrated Provider Association network are used.

Prescription Drug Benefits

The prescription drug benefits under the MontePrime EPO plan are available through the Montefiore Outpatient Pharmacy only.

Under the MonteCare PPO plan, the prescription drug benefits are administered by Express Scripts Inc. (ESI). Under the MonteCare PPO plan you have the option using retail pharmacies within the ESI network, the ESI home delivery pharmacy service, or the Montefiore Outpatient Pharmacy for your prescription drug needs. Prescriptions filled at the Montefiore Outpatient Pharmacy will be delivered to the Weiler Hospital Pharmacy on a daily basis.

Vision Benefits

The Vision Plan, administered by United Health Care Vision, provides benefits for routine eye exams, eye glasses or contact lenses.

Child Tuition Program

Einstein currently provides tuition-support benefits to eligible full-time faculty members for their dependent children enrolled in undergraduate- or graduate-degree programs at accredited institutions of higher education. Each child is eligible for reimbursement for a maximum of four years, for both undergraduate and graduate levels of study combined.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Work-Life Services program, provided through Carebridge, is a confidential program and is available 24-7 by phone, email, chat and the use of digital tools. Counseling options include 5 sessions per issue, per year via in-person, video, phone chat or text. Services include mental health (anxiety, depression, conflict, grief, addiction) emotional wellbeing & behavioral change (motivation, stress relief, mindfulness, goal setting).

Unlimited live telephonic consults are available for Work-Life services which includes childcare & parenting, eldercare & caregiving, financial stress, legal concerns, education planning and convenience services.
