The November minutes were approved.
Dean’s Report
Dean Allen Spiegel announced the formation of a committee to evaluate Einstein’s tenure policy and to give recommendations regarding several aspects of the policy. Faculty comments can be sent to Senate Speaker Jeff Segall who will collect and convey them to the committee.
Speaker’s Report
Senate Speaker Jeff Segall discussed the success of the first event of the Faculty Interactions Committee, a “Seeds of Collaboration” faculty mixer held on November 8th in Max and Sadie. The next Seeds event will be held on January 17th. Jeff also acknowledged the passing of Dick Hays and invited Belinda Jim to deliver a tribute.
Committee on Committees
Vinayaka Prasad, Chair of the Committee on Committees, did not have anything to report.
Educational Programs in Clinical, Translational, and Community-based Research
Paul Marantz (Associate Dean for Clinical Research Education), Ellie Schoenbaum (Director, Clinical Research Training Program), and Cheryl Merzel (Director, Master of Public Health Program) discussed some of Einstein’s clinical research and public health educational programs.

Michael Bloom,Director of University Benefits, discussed what is new in terms of benefits for 2013.
