GUEST:  Ms. Shelly Motzkin

The December 5 minutes were approved with slight modifications.

There is a Council of Deans workgroup on medical student mistreatment, and the LCME is increasingly concerned with this topic.  Dr. Burns is leading a committee to develop an online site that would enable reporting of such events in a timely manner.  An ombudsman panel will then address this concern directly with the site in question.  Education of teachers regarding mistreatment is also being developed.

Dr. Burns reported on the Board of Overseers meeting.  There was a presentation by Dr. Zev Williams on genetics of recurrent miscarriage that was well received.

The YU Hanukkah dinner took place with Emily Miller representing Einstein as a point of light and Dr. Fruhman’s bequest for student tuition was announced.

Gordon Earle is leading a group that is developing an Einstein intranet and is gathering input.

A new Jacobi affiliation agreement has been signed, with assurances that physician teachers will have protected time for graduate medical education.

The meeting adjourned at 3:48 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Jeffrey E. Segall, Ph.D.
Speaker, Einstein Senate
