The Dean may not be able to attend the May 1 Council meeting, but will coordinate with Dr. Burns if required to chair it, since there will not be Council meetings on May 15 or 29.
It has been officially announced that Einstein has joined the New York Genome Center. It is hoped that this will provide novel opportunities for Einstein faculty to take advantage of new technologies and collaborations.
Dr. Spiegel reported that another local institutional collaboration that Einstein had resigned from several years ago, AMDEC, is now defunct.
The April 15 convocation and announcement of the “Campaign to Transform Einstein” was very successful, with thanks to Glenn Miller and his staff for doing a tremendous job in organizing the event.
The May Board of Overseers meeting will take place at Einstein. There will be a focus on the Cancer Center with cases based on cancer.
Dr. Francine Einstein is the faculty honoree for the April 30th Women’s Division Spirit of Achievement Luncheon.
Dr. Neal-Perry summarized the plans for the Town Hall meeting on enhancing diversity and mentoring that will take place on the 19th.
