Minutes
The May minutes were approved.

Dean’s Report
Dean Allen Spiegel reported on the recent Board of Overseers retreat which highlighted the Cancer Center.  He also reported on the commencement ceremony and the variety of related events held for alumni.  The Dean also shared the names of the four faculty members who will be receiving tenure this year, with the caveat that formal approval by the Yeshiva University Board of Trustees is in process.  An update on the ongoing department chair searches was also provided.    

Speaker’s Report
Senate Speaker Jeff Segall reported on recent board and Senate Council meetings.  He also announced the Senate meeting schedule for the next academic year.

Committee on Committees
Maureen Charron, Chair of the Committee on Committees, described the procedure used to form the Senate Advisory Committee that will provide a recommendation to the Senate regarding the Dean’s reappointment.  The membership of this advisory committee was approved by the Senate.     

Walter Ronaghan and Rani Sellers:  Quality of Life Committee
Walter Ronaghan, co-chair of the Quality of Life Committee, and member Rani Sellers reviewed the history and activities of this committee.  The results of the annual quality of life survey were also discussed.
