An update was provided on the Neuroscience Chair search. Three leading candidates have been identified and negotiations will commence with the top candidate.

Jon Backer will be reappointed as Director of the Belfer Institute for Biomedical Studies.

Anne Bresnick will be chair of the patent committee.

There was a Science Council meeting. The issues with Banner and departmental budgets were discussed. A policy relating to untenured, tenure track faculty salary coverage, interim support and employment, and proposed implementation of the policy were described. A summary of hiring over the past 7 years regarding faculty and their funding success was discussed, along with how the rates reflected in that analysis could be part of the basis for the policy..

The meeting adjourned at 4:10 p.m.
