The minutes of the December 17 meeting were approved.

The NYC Clinical Research Network grant, in which Einstein and Montefiore participate, has been approved for funding.

The new Council members were welcomed.

The federal budget was discussed. Although there has been restoration of funds to the domestic budget, it is still unclear how much of the restored funds will come to the NIH. It is currently in committee.

The Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research listing of NIH funding ranking indicates that Einstein has risen two positions to 25th.

There was a radiator leak on the north side of the 3rd floor of the Block building, which also affected the offices directly under the leak, and work is progressing on repairing and replacing damaged items.

There was a discussion of the current state of the Banner transition. Jed Shivers provided a historical overview of the issues developing during the initial rollout. Jim Geraghty then discussed Net Free Balance report and its further development. The Dean expressed his support for solving these issues as quickly as possible.

The meeting adjourned at 3:55 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Jeffrey E. Segall, Ph.D.
Speaker, Einstein Senate
