The December 16 minutes were approved. The new Council members introduced themselves.

The Chartis process was discussed. Over 70 individuals have been interviewed as well as departmental and other groups. Subgroup meetings of the steering committee included the graduate program, undergraduate medical education, technology transfer, and research structure. Initial decisions include maintaining a robust graduate program and identification of 6 priority areas including cancer, 4 suggested by the chairs (including brain initiative, immunotherapeutics, obesity, RNA), and comparative effectiveness/outcomes research.
