Dr. Tomaselli gave the Dean’s report, providing updates on NIH funding and the visit of the Liaison Committee for Medical Education in January 2023. He also announced the appointment of the new chair of Cell Biology and the appointment of a taskforce to evaluate student health services.

Dr. Ozuah discussed the on-going search for a new dean for the Einstein College of Medicine, including the timeline and next steps. He then answered questions.

Dr. Arnsten gave a brief Speaker’s report, updating the Senate on the upcoming elections for the 2023 Senate Council. She asked for approval of the slates for new members of the associate professor and professor promotions committees. No objections were received.

In response to a question from Dr. Jenny, there was a discussion about the recent distribution of new printers and the implementation of a revised policy on use of USB sticks.
