The Falk Recreation Center was presented by Patricia McGlinchey (manager). It was founded in 1985. Basketball is the most popular activity in the gymnasium. The HVAC system is old and locker room renovations would be good. Challenges include financing since the endowment for the center has run out. The lease on the current aerobics machines is about to run out and thus new machines with a new lease is in the works. An issue is that housekeeping of the locker rooms does not take place over weekends and holidays. Engineering provides maintenance – a green roof has been put up with funding from the state. Plaza repair is ongoing but is complicated by the presence of the garage underneath. The men’s shower stalls have been repaired, and the running track resurfaced. The HVAC system will need replacing in the near future and the financing to support that will need to be established.
