Two administrative proposals were discussed. First, it was suggested that all non-NIH as well as NIH submitted grants should be downloaded to Cayuse in pdf format in order to keep track of what has been submitted. This would not include letters of intent. Second, in order to find out the scores as soon as they are available for submitted grants, it would be useful that administrators gain access to ERA commons accounts or have the investigators provide the scores to administrators.

An invitation to attend an initial organizational meeting of an Open Source Innovation Network combining academia with industry was described.

The Board of Overseers May meeting will be at Einstein. The possibilities of grouping visiting board of overseers with some graduating PhD students is being considered, such as a Q and A between students. Participation in vignettes to explain the scientific method was described as a potential audience-interactive experience of hypothesis generation and the scientific method.

The meeting adjourned at 3:50 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Jeffrey E. Segall, Ph.D.

Speaker, Einstein Senate
