- Meeting minutes from the Mar 4, 2020 Senate Council meeting were approved.
- Effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and College actions were discussed. All medical students were pulled from clinical rotations; research operations winding down; personnel who ar e able to work from home encouraged to do so; all classes moved to webcast format; incoming post - docs from affected regions asked to delay arrival; all participants of global health program asked to return home; social distancing measures in place.
- COVID-19 response: the possibility of 200 available hospital beds at Einstein is being explored; potential for Einstein personnel and medical trainees to assist in response is being explored, a survey was sent out.
- Potential effects of continued COVID-19 spread on Einstein operations was discussed. Meetings (incuding Senate and Senate council), thesis defenses, qualifying exams can proceed but moving to virtual platforms. Potential for the IAS to have reduced workers and the need for laboratories to lower numbers of animals. Identification/definition of “essential personnel” in process. Potential effects of PPE supply chain discussed.
