ABSENT: Ms. Shelly Motzkin

1. Meeting minutes from the May 19, 2021 meeting were approved.
2. Summer sessions for Faculty Senate and Senate Council were discussed. It was agreed that Faculty Senate meetings would occur once per month (July 21 and August 18), and Senate Council meetings would decrease in frequency to monthly, off-cycle from the Faculty Senate meetings.
3. Dean Tomaselli provided a preview of his Dean’s Report for Faculty Senate. Topic included revised occupancy and vaccination/COVID19 protocols at Einstein, summary of the Einstein Commencement, development of a PA school in Van Etten, negotiations for student clerkships at Jacobi, and recruitment of Dean of Clinical and Translational Research and Cancer Center - associated Faculty.
4. The Council discussed development of a taskforce to address issues clinician-scientists confront for balancing research with clinical duties.
5. The Council further developed plans for a taskforce to examine research computing requirements at Einstein.

The meeting adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
