1. Meeting minutes from the June 2, 2021 meeting were reviewed and revised.
2. Dr. Burns provided an update on COVID19 vaccinations and campus policy.
3. Following on the previous Senate Council meeting, a taskforce was created to examine i ssues confronting clinician scientists and their ability to have time dedicated for research.
4. Strategies for supporting all ethnic and religious groups during national and international tragedies were discussed. It was emphasized that students who identified with groups on both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict should feel welcome and supported by the Administration. Furthermore, support for specific groups should be proactive, rather than reactive.
5. Issues confronting graduate students during the pandemic (including shutdown and reopening) were discussed. Furthermore, a clarification on the policy for graduate students on federal holidays was requested.
