Covid-19 Research Information for Montefiore Einstein Investigators
For the most up-to-date information concerning our research community please check the Research Community section of the new Einstein Coronavirus Updates page here.
Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design (BERD)
For online biostatistics resources, click here to access the BERD House. For a virtual biostatistics consultation, contact mimi.kim@einsteinmed.org.
Biospecimens Banked in ICTR Biorepository
Under IRB-approved protocols, the ICTR is collecting specimens from adults and pediatric patients with Covid-19, targeting the safe storage of a variety of biosamples (blood and serum, and other biospecimens) and a regulatory-compliant process for distributing de-identified specimens. If you anticipate doing studies using specimens, please fill out the attached form and email as indicated. A faculty-based Scientific Advisory Board has been created to evaluate and prioritize studies based on availability of Covid-19 specimens. Please note that any request for biospecimens will also require a research protocol and IRB review.
Research Data and Informatics
A big-data platform has been developed to help Montefiore Einstein researchers maximize the value of clinical information, particularly in the case of the COVID-19 pandemic. The platform will be widely accessible with minimal training that will also be available. Please note that any request for data requires a protocol and IRB review, even if you expect the project to qualify as 'exempt' https://www.einsteinmed.org/administration/human-research-affairs/policies.aspx. Questions regarding data access and how the Center for Health Data Innovations can assist you with your project should be directed to jeannette.lindquist@einsteinmed.org.
Clinical Research Units at Van Etten and Moses Tower
Clinical Research Units are open and available for studies at both East and West campuses. For more information, email minka.chikolareva@einsteinmed.org. Please note that the units are not equipped for visits with active or suspected COVID-19 patients. Einstein policy guidance regarding phase 1 re-opening of clinical research can be found here.
