The June minutes were approved.

Dean’s Report
Dean Allen Spiegel reported on his main goals for the coming year.  These are to enhance education, to enhance the academic and physical environments, and to identify and obtain the resources to support these goals.  Details regarding implementation of the updated strategic research plan, faculty recruitment and retention, and evaluation and improvement of Einstein’s hospital affiliations were all discussed. 

Speaker’s Report
Senate Speaker Jeff Segall provided an overview of the Einstein Senate and the Senate Council.  He also reported on the results of a recent survey concerning faculty interactions.     

Committee on Committees
Vinayaka Prasad, Chair of the Committee on Committees, announced the creation of the Faculty Interactions Committee, formed to stimulate faculty research interactions.  A membership slate was presented and approved by the Senate membership.  Prasad also announced that the Committee on Committees is in need of new members and encouraged interested individuals to contact him. 

Louis Weiss:  Einstein’s Global Health Center
Louis Weiss, Co-Director of the Global Health Center, provided a description of the history of the Global Health Center and its many activities.
