After approval of the Minutes, Dr. Allen Spiegel gave his Dean’s report highlighting the success of the graduating medical students during the Match Day, the outstanding lecture given by Ana Maria Cuervo for the Harvey Society at Rockefeller University, and about a blog that he wrote for the Einstein Doctor’s Tablet dealing with diabetes prevention. He also mentioned charging committees for three Chair searches, one for the Department of Neurosurgery, and two others for Psychiatry and Radiology.

In his Speaker’s Report, Dr. Jeffrey Segall reported on two Council meetings. These meetings focused on updating/revising the Senate bylaws given the new Einstein - Montefiore structure, and on curricular reform.

Dr. Maureen Charron, Chair of the Committee on Committees presented a new Committee that will be working on the “moving up at Einstein” pamphlet. She also reported on the new composition of the Committee on Committees itself.

Dr. Julia Arnsten, the 2015 Chair for the Committee on Appointments and Promotions (Professor) gave a detailed presentation about the guidelines for promotion, the process by which the Committee operates and the outcome of the 2015 appointments.
