MINUTES OF SENATE COUNCIL MEETING

PRESENT: Drs. Allen Spiegel, Jeffrey Segall, Elyse Sussman, Myles Akabas, Barbara Birshtein, Roy Chuck, Ellie Schoenbaum, Victor Schuster, Pamela Stanley, Steve Walkley, Olivia Vergnolle, Ed Burns, Steve Baum/Allison Ludwig, Mr. Ross Firestone

Ideas for future Senate Council agenda items were discussed. The current possibilities are:

• Further discussion of graduate student program (9/21)
• Fundraising status
• Inclusion and Diversity program
• Update on the progress of the medical school curriculum

The possibility of faculty salary increments was raised. It was noted that the current policy is to provide salary increases of 2% for faculty with 70% salary coverage and 1% for faculty with 60% coverage by NIH funding up to the cap. The current financial status of the school is a driving factor in limiting the range of faculty increments at this time.

The meeting adjourned at 3:57 p.m.
