GUEST:

The minutes of the October 19 council meeting were approved.

Mentoring for assistant professors in basic science departments is the initial priority for the development of mentoring plans.

There are ongoing long term possibilities for adjusting traffic patterns in response to new construction such as the 911 call center.

The constant potential for changes in sites for clerkship and rotation positions was discussed.

The decision not to join the New York Genome Center was gone into in detail. The uncertainty in what advantages would be offered together with the potential risks of additional funding needs by the center limited the attractiveness of the proposal.

The meeting adjourned at 3:55 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Jeffrey E. Segall, Ph.D.
Speaker, Einstein Senate
