Minutes

The December minutes were approved.

Dean’s Report

Dean Allen Spiegel provided detailed updates on the PhD, MD/PhD, and MD educational programs, as well as progress and plans for renovations of Van Etten, Kennedy, and Forchheimer.

Speaker’s Report

Senate Speaker Jeff Segall announced that a proposal for a research professor track would be distributed soon and considered for approval at a future Senate meeting.    

Committee on Committees

There was nothing to report. 

Amos Orlofsky:  Einstein Senate Treasurer’s Report

Amos Orlofsky, Einstein Senate Treasurer, reported that the Senate is now registered as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and has a bank account that is no longer administered by Yeshiva University.  The possibility of re-initiating dues collection was raised, as was an idea to update the dues schedule.  These issues will be discussed in detail at a future Senate meeting.

Ed Burns:  Change in Status of the Department of Nuclear Medicine

A proposal to dissolve the Department of Nuclear Medicine and incorporate it into the Department of Radiology as a division was presented by Ed Burns, Executive Dean.  The proposal was approved by the Senate.
