Cardiology Fellowship Admission and Application

Selection Process 

In compliance with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and the Residency Review Committee, fellowship in cardiovascular diseases in this institution is offered to physicians who are anticipated to successfully complete an accredited program in internal medicine.

Qualifying physicians should submit applications on the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) website. We no longer distribute paper applications, nor require you to send separate information.  Applicants can open a MyERAS account and begin to prepare their applications.  Our program will download applications from December 1st until January 31st.

Completed applications will contain the following information:

  • Common Application Form (CAF)
  • Personal Goals Statement
  • Medical School Transcript
  • MSPE/Dean's Letter
  • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation (one letter must be from Program Director or Department Chair)
  • Wallet-Sized Color Photo
  • USLME transcripts (if applicable)
  • ECFMG Status Report (if applicable)

Interviews 

Interviews are offered to approximately 70 individuals who are contacted via mail, telephone or e-mail.  Interviews are generally scheduled during the month of April.  Priorities are given to those individuals who have submitted complete applications accompanied by strong letters of recommendation and have demonstrated evidence of scholarship by participation in basic or clinical research. Three broad categories of candidates are in general considered and include those with interest in basic research, clinical investigation, and specific.
