Cynthia Taub, MDJune 21, 2015 - BRONX, NY - Dr. Cynthia Taub, Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine (Cardiology) and the Director of Non-invasive Cardiology at Montefiore Medical Center (Einstein campus), has been selected to serve on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Echocardiography.
Dr. Taub completed medical school at Beijing Medical University, graduate research training in molecular biology at Dartmouth Medical School, medical residency and chief residency at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center, a clinical fellowship in Cardiology at Hartford Hospital/University of Connecticut, and an advanced fellowship in echocardiography at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Her clinical interests include echocardiography, heart diseases in women, heart diseases during pregnancy, and valvular heart disease. Her research interests include multimodality cardiac imaging, heart diseases during pregnancy, valvular heart disease, and racial and gender disparity in cardiac rehabilitation. Her active research activity includes numerous publications (peer-reviewed manuscripts, review articles, book chapters, and numerous abstracts presented at national meetings). She regularly speaks at regional, national and international conferences, and is the non-invasive cardiology section editor of the Journal of Cardiovascular Disease Research.
Dr. Taub serves on the American Society of Echocardiography's International Relations Advisory Committee and FASE Committees, and is a fellow of the ASE. She is the chair of the Structural Heart Disease Committee to the Chinese American Heart Association. She has received numerous teaching and research awards, and is board certified in cardiovascular disease, adult comprehensive echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology.
The American Society of Echocardiography is an organization of professionals committed to excellence in cardiovascular ultrasound and its application to patient care through education, advocacy, research, innovation and service to our members and the public. As a board member, Dr. Taub will serve alongside preeminent echocardiography specialists from across the nation.
