The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women's Health

Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery

We recognize that no single treatment fits all patients, and we work to provide individualized care. Each year we provide care to hundreds of women affected by disorders of the pelvic floor. We maintain a high patient volume and perform complex pelvic floor surgeries, including procedures for stress urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse (including robotic, laparoscopic and vaginal surgery), reconstructive procedures (including fistula repair and urethral diverticulectomy) and management of mesh complications. Our center also offers a range of management option for patients with incontinence and overactive bladder syndrome, including OnabotulinumtoxinA (Botox), sacral neuromodulation and percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation. We collaborate with pelvic floor physical therapists and colorectal surgeons when needed to provide the best possible care to all patients.

We provide patient-centered care for the following conditions:

  • Urinary incontinence (urine leakage)
  • Overactive bladder syndrome (frequent urination, urinary urgency, nocturia)
  • Pelvic organ prolapse (vaginal bulge)
  • Neurogenic bladder (in both men and women)
  • Sensory and emptying abnormalities of the bladder
  • Bladder pain syndrome or interstitial cystitis
  • Female sexual dysfunction (desire/arousal disorders, pain with intercourse)
  • Post-partum pelvic floor disorders (birth trauma)
  • Menopausal disorders
  • Fecal incontinence
  • Fistulas involving the vagina or urinary tract
