The Research Division aims to pursue and support research with the goal of providing excellent clinical care, enhancing educational opportunity and promoting scientific inquiry. The portfolio encompasses women’s health issues across the reproductive life span including:

  • Cancer Prevention and Treatment
  • Contraception, Unintended and Abnormal Pregnancies
  • Fertility and Infertility Treatments
  • Genetics, Fetal Diagnosis and Pelvic Ultrasound
  • Prenatal Care and Optimizing Birth Outcomes
  • Primary Care, Screening and Preventative Health
  • Social Determinants of Health and Inequities in Health Outcomes
  • Urogynecology, Menopause and Pelvic Floor Function/Dysfunction

Our research portfolio includes a mix of basic science, translational and clinical research. There are approximately 80 clinical research trials to offer to patients throughout the tri-state area. The mix of trials includes NIH-sponsored cooperative group trials, investigator initiated clinical trials using innovative drugs and devices, as well as translational ‘bed-to-bench’ research where we are investigating new pathways that have considerable potential to improve diseases that affect women. We collaborate with other Montefiore / Einstein Departments and Centers in order to comprehensively approach solutions to complex diseases.
