• Training in:
  • The diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the female pelvic floor, including lower urinary tract disorders, pelvic organ prolapse, colorectal dysfunction and sexual dysfunction.
  • Colorectal surgery, internal medicine and rehabilitation medicine
  • Surgical procedures ranging from traditional abdominal surgery to minimally invasive surgery (vaginal, laparoscopic, robotic)
  • Skills as teacher and role model

Research and Scholarly Activity

• A nine-month rotation block dedicated to the basic science laboratory during which time:
  • The trainee gains familiarity with the tenets of basic science research.
  • The thesis project is conceived, designed and implemented under the close supervision and guidance of a full-time research faculty member.
• Ongoing opportunity to take part in clinical research throughout the training period.
• A unique experience in Women’s Global Health for interested candidates with special emphasis on the management of obstetric-induced pelvic floor injuries such as fistulas.
