In addition to his academic, administrative, and clinical leadership roles, Dr. Schwartz serves as the President of the Montefiore Behavioral Care Integrated Provider Association and is the President, Chief Executive Officer, Medical Director and founding member of University Behavioral Associates, a not for profit behavioral health management services organization. Dr. Schwartz is an expert in the treatment of affective disorders and psychopharmacology.

Executive Unified Administrator

Salimah Velji, MBA MPH is the Executive Unified Administrator for the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences and Montefiore Medical Center. She completed her graduate degrees in Public Health and Business Administration at the Yale School of Public Health and the Yale School of Management. She completed her Administrative Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic. Prior to Montefiore, Salimah has been in leadership roles at New York-Presbyterian / Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Massachusetts General Hospital, Yale-New Haven Hospital and in healthcare consulting.

Dr. Wetzler received his doctorate in clinical psychology from Duke University and completed a psychology internship at New York Hospital-Westchester Division. He has served on the Montefiore Einstein faculty since 1984. Dr. Wetzler's interests focus on mood and personality disorder and behavioral health services utilization. He has published five books and more than 100 articles, and frequently appears on television.

Jonathan Alpert, M.D., Ph.D., says a new study that identified six subtypes of major depression is preliminary and needs to be replicated with a larger and more diverse set of participants. Dr. Alpert is the Dorothy and Marty Silverman Chair in Psychiatry at Einstein and is chair and professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Einstein and Montefiore.
