Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund

The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) was established as part of the American Rescue Plan (ARP), federal legislation to ensure learning continues during the COVID-19 pandemic. Albert Einstein College of Medicine was an HEERF recipient from 2021–23.

Funding Certification and Agreement

This statement acknowledges that the institution signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification and Agreement and the assurance that the institution has used the applicable amount of funds designated under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.

Albert Einstein College of Medicine signed and submitted the “Recipient’s Funding Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students” and has, and will, use the funds to provide the mandated amount of at least 50 percent under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs grants to eligible students.

The method(s) used by the institution to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they would receive under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs.

All students enrolled as of July 1, 2021 will receive a one-time grant. Students with prior Pell grant eligibility will receive $700, and all other students will receive $450.
