Dr. Patel received a PhD in Health Services Organization and Research from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and a Master of Public Health degree in Health Care Administration/Management and Social Behavior from the State University of New York at Albany.

Research and Administrative Leadership

Dr. Urvashi Patel currently serves as VP, Evernorth Research Institute. She is also Assistant Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Department of Family and Social Medicine. 

She brings over 20 years of professional experience focused on the development and evaluation of population health programs and services. In her current role, as well as in her previous work at Horizon Healthcare Innovations, she has been responsible for the evaluation of new healthcare delivery models such as the Patient Centered Medical Home, Accountable Care Organizations, Bundled Payment Models, and consumer engagement programs. Each of these roles have required the use of a broad set of methodological techniques to examine the effectiveness of interventions intended to improve the health status of patients along the continuum of care.
