Sunil Jhangiani, MD, MBA, FACP, AGAF, is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Clinical Nutrition and Gastroenterology. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), the American Gastroenterological Association (AGAF), and has memberships in the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) and the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN). To get a better understanding of how the clinical practice of medicine interacts with the broader and global issues of health care policy, delivery and economics, Dr. Jhangiani obtained a Master’s in Business Administration degree (MBA) from USF, Tampa in 1998 followed by board certification in Managed Care/Population Medicine in 2001. He then moved on to a practical two-year hands-on training under two eminent experts in the fields of health care operations and business strategy; Dr. Richard Bernstein and Mr. Kenneth Abramowitz.

Dr. Jhangiani is the Founder and Medical Director of “Doctors for a Healthier Bronx” a non-profit community-organization (www.doctorsforahealthierbronx.org) focused on improving the health and wellness of the citizens of the Bronx. Founded in 2007 with just 3 physicians, it has since grown to over 350 Bronx doctors with such strategic partners as Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, the Bronx Chamber of Commerce, numerous New York City public schools, and several local businesses in the New York City area. He is also the founder and medical director of an HIT-centered weight management and wellness clinic (www.weightgps.com) in the Bronx, located at 2425 Eastchester Road.

Sunil has authored several articles and book chapters in the field of clinical nutrition, gastroenterology and health care management. His keen insights into health care trends and strategy have resulted in numerous interviews on TV, radio, and the print media. He has delivered speeches on a wide range of health related issues with publications in “Vital Speeches of the Day" and “Vital Speeches International”. Dr. Jhangiani holds faculty appointments in the departments of Medicine and Family and Social Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is on the medical staff at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY and currently serves on the institution’s Medical Executive Committee.

Along with Judith Wylie-Rosett from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Jhangiani was the editor of an eBook entitled 'Obesity and Disease in an Interconnected World: A Systems Approach to turn Huge Challenges into Amazing Opportunities" which was published in April 2015.
