Professional Interests
Dr. Lionel Zuckier attended medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Following an internship in intenal medicine, he returned to Einstein to complete residencies in nuclear medicine and radiology, and fellowship training in immunology in the laboratory of Matthew Scharff. Dr. Zuckier served as an attending in nuclear medicine at Montefiore Medical Center and Jacobi Hospital prior to moving to New Jersey Medical School - UMDNJ (now Rutgers) in 2001 and subsequently to The University of Ottawa (Canada) in 2012. In 2018 he returned to Jacobi Hospital and in 2019 to Montefiore.
Presently, Dr. Zuckier is the Division Head of Nuclear Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center, and Professor of Radiology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He maintains an interest in academic nuclear medicine and publishes across a range of clinical nuclear medicine topics. He has been elected Council President of the General Clinical Nuclear Medicine Council of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.
In 2015 Dr. Zuckier obtained an M.B.A. degree from the Isenberg School of Management, U. of Mass, Amherst.
