Dr. Khadivi is a Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his undergraduate studies at Tufts University and obtained his PhD in Clinical Psychology from the New School for Social Research in 1990. He completed his clinical training at Bellevue Hospital Center, and New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. Currently, he is the Associate Chair for Clinical Care, Evaluation and Research and Chief of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center.

 Dr. Khadivi is an assessment psychologist who teaches in multiple hospital and university settings. In addition to teaching at Einstein Medical School, and Montefiore Hospital Center, he has taught at New York Hospital, Bellevue Hospital, North Central Bronx Hospital, Jacobi Hospital, Bronx Psychiatric Center, and Lenox Hill Hospital Center. Dr. Khadivi is also an Adjunct Faculty at the Department of Psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Fordham University, and The New School for Social Research, where he lectures, conducts research, and teaches doctoral level psychology courses in diagnostic assessment.

 Dr. Khadivi is the first recipient of the Howard Hunt Award of Distinction from the Department of Psychology at New York Hospital. He also received the Exemplary Service Award from Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center for outstanding clinical service to the hospital and the Pro Bono Service Award for outstanding forensic psychological consultation from the Legal Aid Society. He is a fellow of the Society for Personality Assessment; fellow status is awarded by a distinguished panel for significant contributions to the field of personality assessment.

 Dr. Khadivi has been recognized as an expert in clinical and forensic psychology by the New York Supreme Court and other courts in New York State.  He has been an expert consultant for clinical and forensic case evaluations for multiple institutions. He serves as an expert in criminal cases for the New York County District Attorney's Office and for the major Public Defenders’ offices.

 Dr. Khadivi is also actively involved in clinical research.  He has co-authored a guide to assessing psychosis, titled “Assessment of Psychosis:  A Clinician’s Guide.”  The aim of this book is to provide clinicians with a clear, concise, and comprehensive guide for evaluating psychosis. Dr. Khadivi also co-developed a violence-risk screening tool, “The Fordham Risk Screening Tool” (FRST) in collaboration with Dr. Rotter at the Einstein Division of Law and Psychiatry and Drs. Rosenfeld and Foellmi of Fordham University.  This measure is currently being used by the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH).

 Dr. Khadivi has given numerous national and international presentations and workshops on the assessment of severe mental illness, suicide risk assessment, and differential diagnosis.
