Research Interests:

•    Examining the heterogeneity of response properties of populations of auditory neurons in the barn owl auditory forebrain structure Field L
•    Investigating the potential “what” and “where” pathways in the Barn Owl auditory forebrain
•    Elucidating the distribution and roles of the cannabinoid 1 receptor in the avian auditory system

Techniques:
•    Multiple single unit extracellular electrophysiology (tetrodes)
•    Deep-brain in vivo imaging (endoscope)

Collaborative Projects
•    Developing a deep-brain in vivo imaging system with the Funabiki Lab from the Osaka Bioscience Institute in Japan to record
auditory evoked responses from mid- and forebrain auditory structures
•    Investigating the patterning of mouse pup calls in a new mouse model for Autism Spectrum Disorder with the Hiroi Lab here at Einstein
