Individuals who wish to work with radioactive material must receive hands-on training in working with the material in the laboratory and must receive Radiation Safety Training from EH&S. An individual knowledgeable in the use of the particular radioisotope and experimental technique to be used by the new researcher should provide the training to new users.
Radiation Safety Training is offered on a routine basis or as needed. The training covers the principles of radiation safety as well as radiation safety requirements at Einstein. The Principal Investigator is responsible for ensuring that all new staff attend the training.
