CITI Program Now Available (8/1/13): The major update to the CITI website is now complete.
CITI Program Website Downtime (7/17/13): Starting Monday, July 29 at 11 am, the CITI Program website will be unavailable for approximately two to three days to complete a major software upgrade.
PATS Exempt/Expedited Study Deadline Approaching (1/28/13): Please note that effective 2/10/13, all new Exempt and Expedited applications must be initiated in iRIS. More info.
IRB Closure (11/20/12): The Einstein IRB offices will be closed for Thanksgiving on Nov 22-23.
Hurricane Update (10/31/12): The Einstein IRB offices are open again and PATS is back up and running.
Hurricane Update (10/29/12 10:45 am): Einstein ITS plans to shut down PATS by 2:00 pm this afternoon. In the event of a power outage, PATS may go down sooner. Save regularly if you are working in PATS today.

PATS is fixed! (9/6/12): The problem preventing users from saving their changes in PATS has been resolved.
PATS is Stable (7/9/12): PATS survived the heatwave and normal operation is expected to continue.
Emergency Shutdown Remains Possible (7/6/12): The A/C problem continues so there is still a chance that the PATS server will be shut down during the current hot weather spell. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and remind you to save your work frequently.

HIPAA Privacy Rule Training (5/22/12): The Einstein HRPP is sponsoring 2 training programs for Clinical Research Coordinators and Research Support Staff. For more info, click here.
Internet Explorer Version 9.0 (3/28/12): Microsoft recently released Internet Explorer version 9.0. At this time PATS is not fully compatible with IE 9.0. Please do not upgrade to IE 9.0.
Biostatistics Resource (2/24/12): The Biostatistical Consultative and Services Support Resource offers a variety of services including a Walk-In Statistics Consulting Center (Tuesdays from 3-5pm in Belfer 1006E) where researchers can drop by and receive advice about their projects from statisticians. Office Closure (9/28/11): The Einstein IRB (East Campus) will be closed on September 29-30, October 13-14, and October 20-21 in observance of the Jewish holidays.
System Maintenance (4/8/11): PATS will be shutdown for scheduled maintenance on Thursday, April 14 from 8-10 pm. Please log out before then to avoid loss of data. We apologize for any inconvenience.
System Update (12/3/10): ITS believes that PATS is now stable. However, we ask that you regularly save your work in case additional problems occur and notify us immediately if you encounter any problems with PATS.

Administrative Office Closure (11/23/10): The Einstein IRB Administrative Office will be closed 11/25-26 in honor of Thanksgiving.
IRB Fee Reminder (11/23/10): As announced on 7/20/10, effective 1/1/2011, the IRB fee for Private Industry research will increase from $2000 to $3000.
Reduced Staff (11/22/10): Several members of the Einstein IRB will attend a national conference from 12/6-8. They will have limited email access and will not be able to respond to inquiries nor process submissions at the usual pace during that time period. As such, we ask that you submit priority items before 12/1 so that these items can be processed prior to the conference. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
CCI Administrative Office Closure (8/30/10): The CCI Administrative Office will be closed on the following dates in observance of Legal and Jewish Holidays: 9/7, 9/9-10, 9/23-24, 9/30-10/1. In addition, the office will close at 3 pm on: 9/8 and 9/17.
MRRC Research (7/22/10): New template text has been added to the consent templates for research that involves the MRRC.
IRB Fee (7/20/10): Effective 1/1/2011, the IRB fee for Private Industry research will increase from $2000 to $3000.
Outgoing Specimens (5/24/10): All investigators, clinicians and research personnel that are shipping biohazardous materials (i.e. blood and tissue specimens, radioactive materials, chemicals, etc.) must complete IATA (International Air Transport Association) certification. If you are shipping these materials without certification, the institution can be fined up to $60,000 for each offense. You can find more information about IATA certification at www.saftpak.com. If you have any questions about whether you need IATA certification, please contact Ms. ManYu Chen at mchen@montefiore.org or Jack Zencheck, Chief Procurement Officer, at 718-430-8889 or jzenchec@yu.edu.
CCI Administrative Office Closure (5/11/10): The CCI Administrative Office will be closed on 3/19-20 in observance of Shavuot.
CCI Administrative Office Closure (3/17/10): The CCI Administrative Office will be closed on 3/30-31 and 4/5-6 in observance of Passover.
Bronx CREED Translation Service Update (3/17/10): The Bronx Center to Reduce and Eliminate Ethnic and Racial Health Disparities (Bronx CREED) and the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research announce the availability of English-to-Spanish translation by a certified translator for research-related documents, including consent forms, educational materials, and questionnaires. For investigators without external funding there will be no charges. For investigators with external funding budgeted for translation, charges, if any, will be determined on a case-by-case basis. We ask that all publications, presentations, and posters acknowledge our NIH grant for this service. The translator, Ms. Yovana Coupey, received her translation certification from the NYU School of Professional and Continuing Studies and also currently serves as Course Leader of the Medical Spanish Program. New HHC-641 Form (9/22/09): All new projects involving NBHN (JMC/NCBH) staff/facilities/resources must use the new form for NYC Central Office to review the project.
Exempt Application Numbers (8/19/09): To accommodate the growing number of Exempt protocols, the CCI numbers assigned to Exempt studies now have 4-digit serial numbers. (E.g., 2009-800 is now 2009-0800.)
Registration Now Open (7/29/09): Registration is now open for CCI's Human Research Seminar Series.
CITI Maintenance (7/20/09): On Monday, August 3rd, at approximately 8 AM, the CITI Program web site will be taken offline for a major system upgrade. The downtime is expected to last approximately five days. Please complete your work and log off prior to this time.
Training Server Outage (7/9/09): The Training server (http://misdev.aecom.yu.edu/cci/ccilogin.asp) is being reconfigured and will be unavailable for the next few days.
Exempt Application Error (7/9/09): The problem preventing users from starting new Exempt applications over the last few days has been resolved.
Internet Explorer Version 8.0 (6/10/09): IE 8.0 users may now use PATS. If you encounter any problems, please report them to Hegulka.
Stem Cell Research Requirements (6/9/09): A memo was recently distributed to all Einstein faculty regarding the requirement for ESCRO review of any research involving human embryonic stem cells hESC). Please see the ESCRO website for more information.
Exempt Application Bug (6/5/09): The previously reported bug affecting the signature lines in the Exempt Application printout has been fixed.
Exempt Application Bug (5/12/09 4:00 pm): We are currently fixing a bug that is affecting the signature lines in the Exempt Application printout. Please note that the signature requirements have not changed.

New System Menu (12/4/08): The System Menu has been reorganized to make it more intuitive. The menu item "New/Edit Protocol" has been renamed "Full/Expedited Applications." If you have any PATS questions or experience a bug, please use the "Report a Bug/Ask a Question" link in the Functions section of the menu.
Spanish Translation Service Available (12/4/08): The Bronx Center to Reduce and Eliminate Ethnic and Racial Health Disparities (Bronx CREED) and the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research announce the availability of English-to-Spanish translation by a certified translator for research-related documents, including consent forms, educational materials, and questionnaires. For investigators without external funding there will be no charges. For investigators with external funding budgeted for translation, charges, if any, will be determined on a case-by-case basis. The translator, Ms. Yovana Quecano-Coupey, received her translation certification from the NYU School of Professional and Continuing Studies and currently also serves as the Medical Spanish Coordinator.
