Department of Epidemiology & Population Health

The mission of the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health is to generate and disseminate knowledge, and inform policy and practice in order to improve the health of the individual and society.

The unified Department of Epidemiology and Population Health (DEPH) at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, New York, is home to more than 109 full-time, part-time and voluntary faculty. The DEPH provides training to a new generation of physicians, clinical researchers and other members of the public health workforce through the Clinical Research Training Program (M.S. degree), Ph.D. in Clinical Investigation, and medical school curriculum. The Department is one of the oldest of its kind, with origins in the first hospital-based Division of Social Medicine in the United States.
