Albert Einstein College of Medicine provides exam preparation support to students through the office of academic support and counseling. Preparing for pre-clerkship and clerkship exams in medical school involves mastering a large volume of material, developing strong study strategies, and building time management skills. Students interested in identifying areas for improvement and optimizing their study approach can meet with the office of academic support and counseling at any point.

Students in the M.D. Program and dual M.D./Ph.D. program may participate in personal exam review sessions with the office of academic support and counseling if they receive a failing grade or low pass on an Einstein exam. During exam review sessions, students and staff consider all possible factors that contributed to a low exam score, including knowledge gaps, ineffective study strategies, test-taking errors, reading, comprehension, or attention issues, poor time management, and personal issues. Students are offered follow-up appointments to more comprehensively address their individual concerns and may be given referrals to Einstein’s Peer Support Network and other support services.

For students seeking United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 1 and Step 2 CK exam preparation support, the office of academic support and counseling provides one-on-one consultation meetings. These sessions focus on monitoring readiness, managing test anxiety, and maintaining motivation, ensuring the student stays on track for their exam date while feeling supported throughout the process.
