Electrophysiology, Pacing, Defibrillators
A longstanding pioneer of cardiac pacemaker technology and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, the Montefiore Einstein Electrophysiology Laboratory and Arrhythmia Service supports care for patients with known or suspected heart rhythm risks, many of whom have cardiac dysfunction and high risk coronary artery disease (including patients with acute myocardial infarction and related arrhythmias), with significant interaction with the Congestive Heart Failure, Invasive Cardiac Diagnostic and Cardiothoracic Services.
With an average tenure approaching two decades, Montefiore Einstein’s 6 full-time electrophysiology faculty members offer unparalleled consistency and stability in the full gamut of arrhythmia-related activity, including:
Montefiore Einstein’s arrhythmia experts conduct invasive and non-invasive electrophysiology diagnostic and treatment procedures. Annually, our specialists conduct:
- 1300 invasive electrophysiologic evaluations, including diagnostic and ablative procedures
- approximately 450 permanent pacemaker implants
- 400 automatic implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (AICD) implants
- approximately 85,000 ECGs
- 3,850 Holters
