Dermatopharmacology Fellowship
Director: Holly Kanavy, D.O.
A competitive two-year program that introduces fellows to the design and implementation of clinical trials in dermatology. The fellow will have the opportunity to collaborate on a wide variety of cutting-edge projects in dermatology, including studies of atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, alopecia areata, supportive oncodermatology, and hidradenitis suppurativa. Targeted towards graduated M.D. or D.O. recipients who have completed intern year.

Supportive Oncodermatology Fellowship
Director: Beth McLellan, M.D.
A one-year program open to medical students taking a gap year or after medical school or internship. Dr. McLellan studies cutaneous manifestations of cancer and cancer therapies. Currently, she is working to develop an understanding of the pathogenesis of radiation dermatitis and the interplay of the immunologic response, Staphylococcus aureus, and the microbiome. Dr. McLellan works closely with Kosaku Shinoda, PhD in a bench to bedside research model. Drs. McLellan and Kosaku accept 2 fellows per year and although there is overlap, there are 2 tracks - clinical and lab.

Procedural Dermatology and Hidradenitis Suppurativa Dual Fellowship

Explore a distinct dermatology research fellowship tailored for medical students taking a gap year in between their third and fourth year. This program, led by esteemed Mohs surgeon, Dr. David Ciocon offers a comprehensive academic experience focused on dermatologic surgery and cutaneous oncology. Fellows contribute substantively to research articles in procedural dermatology, skin cancer, skin of color, and hidradenitis suppurativa and have the opportunity to present their findings at various dermatologic conferences. Furthermore, research fellows actively engage in patient care, directly assisting in various dermatologic procedures such as Mohs micrographic surgery, excisions, intralesional injections. This academic experience ensures a nuanced understanding of these specialties, providing valuable skills and insights that will be useful as a future dermatologist. As participants progress through the year, they will gain mastery in both of these subject areas making this fellowship a unique blend of academic rigor and clinical application.
