Research The Division of Dermatology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine has a robust research program, including basic science, translational, and clinical research. We regularly receive research grants to support our work and present our findings at leading medical conferences and in top journals. *Link to pubmed* Oncodermatology Dr. Beth McLellan is using cutting edge techniques to study radiation dermatitis and scalp cooling for prevention of chemotherapy-induced alopecia in patients with textured hair types. Hidradenitis suppurativa Dr. Kristina Campton and Dr. Steven Cohen study our large population of patients in our hidradenitis suppurativa treatment center. Cosmetic dermatology Dr. Kseniya Kobets is studying alopecia, acne scarring, and improving laser outcomes in patients with skin of color. Clinical trials Dr. Holly Kanavy directs our robust clinical trials unit with a full-time dermatopharmacology fellow. Dermatologic Oncology Dr. David Ciocon leads clinical research examining skin cancer and treatment in our diverse patient population. Dermatology Research Support Service Dr. H. Dean Hosgood directs the DRSS, providing guidance and epidemiological support for all stages of dermatology research projects Translational research Dr. Kosaku Shinoda's lab studies lipomas and radiation dermatitis and collaborates on dermatology research including basic science elements.
