About Diversity at Einstein

Access the Resources You Need to Succeed

Guided by Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s long-standing mission to promote scientific excellence through student, trainee, and faculty diversity and through community inclusion, the Einstein Council for Diversity and Inclusion in Science and Medicine has developed a strategic plan for achieving our vision of an inclusive culture of medicine, positioned to lead the fight for health equity, and to engage stakeholders across the institution to collaborate on sustainable change in the Bronx and beyond.

Einstein’s strategic plan for excellence includes health equity and diversity initiatives that focus on optimizing organizational culture, promoting inclusive community, and developing and implementing equity-related knowledge through the following initiatives:

  • developing a sustainable diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) infrastructure
  • increasing diversity recruitment and retention
  • developing data standards for measuring longitudinal DEI progress
  • providing training and professional development
  • fostering community building and learner engagement
  • expanding education and research opportunities for students, faculty, and house staff who are underrepresented in medicine
