Professional Interests
Dr. Daniel M. Fein earned a BS in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his MD at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Fein completed his pediatric residency and pediatric chief residency at The Children's Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM)/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He subsequently completed his fellowship training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at CHAM/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. During his fellowship, Dr. Fein was awarded the Outstanding House Officer Award by the Montefiore Staff and Alumni Association.
Dr. Fein joined the Department of Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in 2013 and is currently an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Interim Division Chief of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at CHAM. He is an active clinical researcher serving as PI for multiple studies and as site-director for a variety of nationally conducted clinical studies. His specific interests are analgesia & anxiolysis, BRUE and resident/fellow education.
Dr. Fein is also the Fellowship Director for the Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship at CHAM and served on the national committee for developing the descriptions of Entrustable Professional Activities that will help guide the education of future trainees in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. He has authored multiple articles and book chapters, serves as co-director of the Department of Pediatrics Grand Rounds at CHAM. He is active in the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Emergency Medicine and is a member of both the AAP's PREP E-Med and Pediatrics In Review editorial board. He was awarded the Lewis M. Fraad award for Excellence in Resident Teaching in 2017 and was inducted into the Leo M. Davidoff Society in 2020 for recognition of contributions to medical student education.
