Professional Interests

Our research focuses on developing and applying medical imaging methods and analysis methods (include machine learning) to study health and disease, aiming at early detection, accurate diagnosis, disease characterization/staging, evaluation and prediction of disease courses and treatment responses. We collaborate closely with clinicians to solve clinically impactful problems. Disease interests include COVID-19, neurodegenerative diseases (AD/MCI and multiple sclerosis), brain injuries, and breast cancer. https://sites.google.com/view/duong-lab/

We are hiring from research assistant to tenured faculty. See website above.

4) RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

Graduate students:
Our faculty are currently taking on graduate students. Please reach out to us to explore possibilities. One needs to apply for admission via http://www.einstein.yu.edu/education/phd/phd-program/

Medical students:
Our faculty are currently taking on medical students. Please reach out to us to explore possibilities. During the summer between the first and second year, students may be supported by a medical school research fellowship. Longer term research projects lasting several months can be arranged during the fourth year of training. Students wishing to devote a full year to research are encouraged to apply for a mentored, funded Einstein research fellowship.

Undergraduate and high school students:
We host undergraduate and high school students around the country during the summer to perform research which usually continues during semesters. Many projects can be done remotely. You must be top >90% of your class, persistrent, extremely motivated, and are willing to commit the entire summer and throughout the semesters when time allows (a few hours a week). Please reach out to us to explore possibilities. Many of our high schoolers were TOP 300 Regeneron Scholars (see News tab).
