Priya Patel, DO, FAAPMR is a board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabiliation and Sports Medicine Fellowship trained physician within the Orthopedic department at NYC Health+Hospital/Jacobi and Assistant Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Patel was raised in Freehold, NJ where she was selected to attend the prestigious Medical Science program at Freehold High School. She then attended New York University and in 2011 graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and a minor in Public Health. Her other academic interests included anthropology and spanish. She then obtained her D.O. from Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2015 and was the recipient of the Rowan SOM Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Excellence Award. She completed her Transitional Year at Christ Hospital in Jersey City and her physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City where she served as Chief Resident. After graduating in 2019, she completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine with sub-specialization in Interventional Spine at Mount Sinai Hospital where she served as Chief Fellow.
Dr. Patel is proficient in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and Interventional Spine. She enjoys teaching and is actively involved in the Sports Medicine Fellowship. Her interests also include public health and policy.
