Professional Interests

As operations director of the Einstein Structural NMR Core, I am responsible for the day-to-day operation of the in-house NMR instruments and I also coordinate NMR data collection activities at the NYSBC for Einstein users. I am responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and scheduling of the 3 in-house NMR instruments consisting of a Bruker 600 MHz with cryogenic probe and high-throughput sample changer, a Bruker 300 MHz and an Agilent 600 MHz. I can provide assistance in experimental design, data collection and analysis, and structure determination using NMR methods. I train users on use of the NMR instruments and processing/analysis software and consult with faculty, postdocs and students to develop NMR-related strategies for use in their research projects. I also co-instruct a course “NMR for Chemistry and Biochemistry” that provides an introduction to basic NMR theory and principles followed by application of NMR to solving various chemical and biochemical problems using formal lectures and hands-on sessions in the NMR facility.
