Education
Dr. William Burton received a B.A. in architecture from Rice University, an M.A. in social & community psychology from the University of Louisville, and a Ph.D. in environmental psychology from the City University of New York.
Administration and Teaching
Dr. Burton is Director of the Office of Educational Resources and an Associate Professor in the Department of Family & Social Medicine. He joined the faculty of Einstein in 1998.
Over the years, Dr. Burton has been actively involved in teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, and CME levels, and he has mentored hundreds of medical students, residents, and junior faculty in the design and conduct of research projects. He currently teaches medical students in the Epidemiology, Population Health, and Evidence-based Medicine Course. During the past four years, he has made several trips to Ethiopia as part of Einstein’s Global Health Program. Dr. Burton has been a member of the Society of Directors of Research in Medical Education (SDRME) since 2006 and has been Chair of the SDRME Membership Committee since 2011. He served as a board member of the Eastern Evaluation Research Society from 2009 to 2014.
