Research Profiles

Professional Interests

My domestic and international research aims to reduce chronic disease burden in medically underserved populations. I am a community psychologist and a psycho-oncologist with expertise in participatory system dynamics modeling (PSDM). PSDM is a still under-applied systems science methodology that engages multiple stakeholders in the development and validation of computational tools for examining processes and outcomes associated with a stated problem of interest. Validated system dynamics models support collaborative action planning and implementation of evidence-based interventions within targeted organizations, communities, and/or populations.

I am Associate Director of Patient-Centered Outcome Research Training in Einstein's MS in Clinical Research Design Methods, for which I teach a course in Stakeholder Engaged Research.

I completed a PhD in Ecological-Community Psychology/Urban Studies at Michigan State University and a post-doctoral fellowship in Psycho-Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
