Mindy J. Katz, M.P.H. is a Senior Associate in the Saul R. Korey Department of Neurology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She has an M.P.H. in biostatistics from Columbia University School of Public Health. Her interests include population recruitment methods for epidemiological studies, the effect of risk factors on cognitive aging, and early identification of Alzheimer's disease and cognitive decline. Ms. Katz has been an investigator in the Einstein Aging Study (EAS) since 1993 and has contributed to many publications with the EAS research team. Her most recent publication focuses on stress and cognitive decline. Heightened levels of stress are associated with a number of biological consequences that may mediate the effect of stress on cognition.   Other work foceses on age and sex specific prevalence and incidence of dementia and mild cognitive impairment for blacks and whites in a community-dwelling population.  She is also an investigator on two additional NIH/NIA Einstein-based studies:  ESCAPE, a lifespan study which focuses on how stress can influence health, well-being and the aging process.  She has also been instrumental in fostering external collaborations with other institutions and working with investigators to integrate EAS data with other large longitudinal aging studies
