Professional Interests
Mr. Dan Myers has a clinical background in social work and psychiatry. In addition to positions in inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, he worked for many years in the Department of Psychiatry at North Central Bronx Hospital in the psychiatric ER and as a clinician on the psychiatric consultation service.
Mr. Myers began teaching at Einstein in the first-year Introduction to Clinical Medicine (ICM) course in 1989 and was appointed course co-director for both first-year ICM courses, Introduction to the Patient and The Clinical Experience, in 1994.
Mr. Myers’ clinical interest is human sexuality and clinical practice. He has helped integrate LGBT sexuality content throughout the Einstein curriculum, including in the ICM courses, the second-year Human Reproductive Systems course, and the third-year Family Medicine clerkship didactics. He is a founding faculty member of the Einstein LGBT Steering Committee, which is charged with improving the quality of life and environment for all individuals across a broad, diverse spectrum at Einstein. As the Chair of the LGBTQIA Health Theme Curriculum, he works with a group of students and the Office of Medical Education to increase and integrate knowledge and clinical skills related to the LGBTQIA community into the four-year Einstein curriculum.
