Moran Slavin
<p>Moran Slavin, MD, is a surgical oncologist at Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center and Assistant Professor, Surgery at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Slavin is an expert in minimally invasive surgery, including robotic and laparoscopic surgery for abdominal cancers as well as benign diseases. Her primary focus is gastric and gastro-esophageal cancer, pancreatic cancer, bile duct and liver cancers and liver metastasis. She also provides minimally invasive surgery for the insertion of hepatic artery infusion pump (HAIP) therapy to treat colorectal liver metastasis and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.</p><p>After earning her Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences at Tel Aviv University Faculty of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 2010, Dr. Slavin continued at the institution to earn her Doctor of Medicine in 2013. She completed an internship at the Tel Aviv University-affiliated Sheba Medical Center in 2015, followed by her general surgery residency at the Tel Aviv University-affiliated Meir Medical Center in 2022. Dr. Slavin then moved to the United States to continue her surgical training, completing a clinical fellowship in minimally invasive foregut and hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgery at AdventHealth in 2023 and a clinical fellowship in international surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 2024.</p><p>Dr. Slavin’s research focuses on the impact of minimally invasive surgery on patient outcomes in oncologic and benign diseases. She also works to improve the training of surgeons in minimally invasive approaches. Her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed publications, and she has presented at national and international scientific meetings.</p><p>Dr. Slavin is board certified by the Israeli Ministry of Health in Surgery. She is a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) and the American Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (AHPBA). She is fluent in Hebrew and English.</p>
Ethan M. Ravetch
Tamar B. Nobel
<p>Tamar B. Nobel, MD, MPH, is an attending thoracic surgeon at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery and Epidemiology and Population Health at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Nobel’s clinical focus centers on thoracic oncology, including minimally invasive surgery for lung and esophageal cancer. She is also interested in mediastinal and chest wall tumors, metastasectomy for lung metastases from other cancers, tracheal disorders and benign esophageal disease.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Medicine from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 2014, Dr. Nobel completed a general surgery residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. During her training, she completed two research years where she worked as a research fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering while also completing a Master of Public Health and a board-certified preventive medicine residency. She continued her medical training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she completed a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship in 2023 and an advanced thoracic surgical oncology fellowship in 2024.</p><p>Through a multi-disciplinary approach using translational science, health services research, process improvement and community outreach, Dr. Nobel uses an epidemiologic framework to examine and improve clinical outcomes for patients in her current thoracic oncology research. Her work has been shared through numerous peer-reviewed publications, editorials and review articles, book chapters, posters and oral and invited presentations.</p><p>Dr. Nobel is board certified in Public Health and General Preventive Medicine and General Surgery. She is a member of several professional societies, including the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, among others. Through a career development award grant from Lungevity for a project called BRONx-TEAM, Dr. Nobel is increasing adjuvant therapy uptake among lung cancer patients at Montefiore Einstein through patient navigation.</p>

Tiwalade Adediji
<p>Tiwalade Adediji, MD, is an attending physician at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Adediji’s clinical focus centers on bariatric surgery. She is committed to improving access to metabolic and weight-loss surgery for patients. Her work explores how surgical interventions can enhance outcomes and improve quality of life in our community.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in cell biology and neuroscience from Rutgers University in 2014, Dr. Adediji earned her Doctor of Medicine at New York Medical College in 2018. She then completed her general surgery residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2023, followed by an advanced gastrointestinal minimally invasive surgery (GI/MIS) fellowship at Montefiore Einstein in 2024. During her training, she engaged in global health initiatives across Africa.</p><p>Dr. Adediji’s research focuses on quality improvement in bariatric surgery. She has presented her work at scientific meetings.</p><p>Dr. Adediji is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. She is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.</p>
