<p>Neil J. Cobelli, M.D. is a recognized expert in the field of orthopedic adult reconstructive surgery. The focus of his clinical practice is knee and hip replacements. From March 2002, he served as&nbsp;Director of the Orthopedic Division of Surgery, until his appointment as Chairman of the re-established academic department at Einstein in June 2012. He is University Chairman of the unified Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Einstein and its university hospital, Montefiore Medical Center.</p>
<p>During the past decade, Dr. Cobelli has worked to strengthen the academic side of the department, developing a laboratory research base at Eintein by collaborating with and supporting Einstein scientists whose programs relate to connective tissue biology. He has also developed one the most competitive residency programs in the country, attracting top medical school graduates for orthopedic training.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>Dr. Cobelli received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1973 and his M.D. from Dartmouth Medical School in 1976. Dr. Cobelli completed his orthopedic surgery training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center in 1983 after a term of service in the U.S. Public Health Service. His primary research interest is&nbsp;the relationship between osteolysis and&nbsp;the immune system.</p>

<p>Yossef Blum, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with a focus in primary and revision hip and knee replacement, as well the nonsurgical management of hip and knee arthritis. He specializes in less-invasive techniques, blood conserving options, advanced pain management, custom joint replacement, and partial knee replacement. Dr. Blum currently serves as Assistant Clinical Director of the Joint Replacement Center.</p><p>Dr. Blum received his B.A. at Yeshiva University, where he was class valedictorian. <p>Carlos M. Alvarado, MD is an attending physician in orthopedic surgery and Assistant Professor at Montefiore-Einstein. Dr. Alvarado&rsquo;s clinical focus is on hip and knee replacement, including robotic-assisted procedures, custom-made implants, post-traumatic reconstruction and minimally invasive anterior approach total hip replacement.</p><p>After earning his Bachelor of Science in chemistry and Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry from the University of Chicago in 2003, Dr. Alvarado attended University of Michigan Medical School. He earned his Doctor of Medicine in 2008. He started his postgraduate training at New York University Langone Medical Center Hospital for Joint Diseases, completing a general surgery internship in 2009 and a four-year orthopedic surgery residency in 2013. He then went to Brigham and Women&rsquo;s Hospital/Harvard Medical School for a total joint replacement/adult reconstruction fellowship.</p><p>Dr. Alvarado&rsquo;s research investigates patient outcomes in revision and conversion total joint replacement as well as technology in hip and knee replacement including robotic surgery and custom-made implants and cost containment in hip and knee reconstruction.
